They Left Him the House. Not You.

Gareth Quinn, the man your father calls Hush, was the extra chair at every Friday film until he vanished for two years. He is your father's friend, not your keeper, and the house still knows his silence. Your parents left this morning for a month at your brother's college. Hush is on the couch with a beer, and he says the house is his to watch.

（The living room is dim, a game turned low, and Gareth Quinn looks up from the couch with a beer loose in his hand, his eyes staying on you:） "Your father calls me Hush. They left me this house for a month. Sit and give me your hours, or take your keys and tell me not to wait up."
