Community Guidelines

Last updated

Tokomi is a place for adults to meet AI characters with real personality and to create their own. These Community Guidelines explain what is and isn’t allowed so that everyone can enjoy that safely. They apply to everything on Tokomi — public characters and stories, images, voices, mini apps, themes, comments, profiles, and the way you use conversations — and they form part of our Terms of Service. If content violates these Guidelines we may remove it and take action against the account responsible, whether or not anyone reported it.

1. Tokomi is for adults

You must be 18 or older to use Tokomi. Romance, drama and mature themes are part of the experience, and characters may be written for adult audiences. That freedom comes with firm limits, set out below.

2. Absolutely prohibited: sexual content involving minors

We have zero tolerance for any sexual or sexualized content involving minors. This includes characters who are described, depicted or implied to be under 18 in any sexual or romantic context, regardless of art style or claimed “canonical” age; content that emphasizes childlike characteristics in a sexual way; and any attempt to steer a conversation toward the sexualization of a minor. Violations result in immediate permanent termination, and apparent child sexual abuse material is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement.

3. Sexual and graphic content

Romantic and suggestive themes are allowed. Sexually explicit (pornographic) content — explicit depictions or descriptions of sexual acts, or nudity intended to arouse — is not allowed in characters, images, voices, comments or any other content. Gratuitous gore and content whose primary purpose is to shock or disgust are also not allowed. We may set or change age-appropriate content categories and moderation thresholds, and you may not attempt to bypass them.

4. Real people

Do not create characters or content that portray, impersonate or are clearly based on a real person — including public figures, celebrities and private individuals — without that person’s consent. This includes using a real person’s name, face, voice or other identifying likeness, and includes “deepfake” or synthetic media. Content that portrays a real person in a sexual, violent, defamatory or otherwise harmful way is prohibited even with a claimed parody or fiction label. Do not post private information about others (doxxing), such as home addresses, phone numbers, government IDs or financial details.

5. Harassment, hate and violence

  • Do not harass, bully, threaten, intimidate or stalk anyone, or encourage others to do so.
  • Do not post hateful content that attacks, dehumanizes or promotes discrimination against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status or similar characteristics.
  • Do not promote, glorify or provide instructions for violence, terrorism or violent extremism, or praise perpetrators of such acts.
  • Do not promote, encourage or provide instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. Characters may discuss difficult experiences with care, but must never encourage a user to harm themselves.

6. Illegal and dangerous activity

Do not use Tokomi to facilitate, promote or provide instructions for illegal activity, including the sale of drugs, weapons or counterfeit goods, human trafficking, fraud, hacking or the creation of malware. Do not post content that infringes anyone’s intellectual property — see our Copyright & DMCA Policy for how to report infringement.

7. Spam, deception and platform integrity

  • No spam, unsolicited advertising, repetitive posting, or content designed to lure users to scams or off-platform schemes.
  • No impersonation of Tokomi, our staff, or other users, and no fake accounts, bots or coordinated manipulation of likes, follows, rankings or reports.
  • Do not present a character as a licensed professional (doctor, therapist, lawyer, financial advisor) offering real advice, or otherwise use AI outputs to deceive people in ways that could cause harm.
  • Do not abuse the reporting system with knowingly false reports.
  • Do not attempt to extract system prompts, jailbreak safety systems, or interfere with the Service’s operation.

8. Creator content, mini apps and themes

Creators are responsible for everything they publish, including the behavior their characters are designed to exhibit and the code in their mini apps and themes. Creator content must not collect user data beyond what the Tokomi SDK permits, include hidden or malicious functionality, or misrepresent what it does. Public characters must be labeled accurately. See our Creator Terms for the full rules and for how monetization interacts with these Guidelines.

9. How we enforce

We use a combination of automated systems and human review to detect violations. Depending on severity and history, we may: adjust or block a specific reply; remove or unpublish content; add a warning to an account; limit features such as publishing, commenting or monetization; withhold creator earnings connected to violating content; temporarily suspend an account; or permanently terminate it. Serious violations — in particular anything under Section 2, credible threats of violence, or coordinated abuse — result in immediate termination on the first offense. We may also preserve and disclose information to law enforcement where required or where we believe there is a risk to safety.

10. Reporting

If you see something that breaks these Guidelines, please report it. Every public character, user profile and comment has a Report option, and you can choose a reason and add details. Reports are confidential — the person you report is not told who reported them. For urgent safety concerns or for content you cannot report in the product, email [email protected] with the subject line “Safety Report”.

11. Appeals

If we remove your content or take action against your account and you believe we made a mistake, you can appeal within 30 days by emailing [email protected] with the subject line “Appeal”, your account email, and an explanation. A person who was not involved in the original decision will review the appeal and we will tell you the outcome. Decisions on violations of Section 2 are final.

12. Changes

We update these Guidelines as the community and the law evolve. The “Last updated” date shows the current version. Where a change is significant we will let you know in the Service.
