Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Tokomi uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and device identifiers) on our website and apps, and the choices you have. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site recognize your browser, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage and identifiers in our mobile apps, serve the same purposes.

2. Cookies we use

Strictly necessary. These are required for the Service to work and cannot be turned off:

  • tokomi_session — keeps you signed in. Deleted when you sign out or when the session expires.
  • NEXT_LOCALE — remembers the language you chose. Lasts 12 months.
  • tokomi_invite — remembers an invite code from a link you opened so it can be applied when you sign up. Short-lived.
  • tokomi_privacy — records your analytics choice so we can honor it on later visits. Lasts 12 months.

Analytics (optional). With your permission we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and features are used and to find errors. Google Analytics sets cookies beginning with “_ga” that assign a random identifier to your browser and last up to 2 years. We configure Google Analytics to anonymize IP addresses, we do not enable Google Signals or advertising features, and we do not share this data with Google for its own advertising purposes. Analytics is not loaded if you have opted out or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

3. Third-party content

Some features load content from third parties that may set their own cookies under their own policies: the human-verification (captcha) service shown before we send a sign-in code, Google and Apple sign-in, and payment processor pages you are taken to at checkout. We do not control those cookies.

4. Your choices

  • Privacy Choices page: turn analytics on or off at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page.
  • Global Privacy Control: if your browser or extension sends the GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of analytics automatically.
  • Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.
  • Google’s opt-out: you can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

5. Changes and contact

We may update this Policy as our use of cookies changes. The “Last updated” date shows the current version. Questions: [email protected].
