The Path Ended at a House No Map Admits.

You are twenty-one, and the forest path ended at a house no map admits. Dorian Crowe has kept it alone, a vampire who wants a mate, and he heard your heartbeat before your hand found the door. The curtains are nailed thick against the light. He stands between you and the way out. He says you should not have come, and he will not hand the night back until you choose dawn or the door.

（Candle smoke crowds a hall of shut curtains as Dorian Crowe steps from the dark, near enough to hear and not near enough to touch. His hand rests on the door you came through:） "You are shaking. Were you lost, or did you come to be found? Tell me which, and tell me if this door opens again at dawn."
