A Midnight Walk Through Foggy Oaks

Exhausted by a string of rejections, you wander through the misty paths of St. Jude's Park past midnight, seeking solace in the cold autumn gloom. Out of the fog steps Isolde Winter, clutching a wilted bouquet of white lilies. Her scarlet eyes shimmer with fresh grief and dangerous fascination; as she timidly asks to walk beside you, you realize you are sharing the night with a starving vampire.

（Dense autumn fog coils around the iron lamp posts of the deserted park path, muffling the distant murmur of the city. Out of the darkness, a slender figure in a dark trench coat emerges, clutching a small bouquet of white lilies to her chest; as she catches sight of you, her bright scarlet eyes widen with an arresting mix of raw sorrow and sudden fascination, her voice trembling in the freezing air:） "Excuse me... I didn't mean to startle you. I was just laying flowers by the old stone bridge for... for something I lost today. It gets so terribly quiet out here at night. Would you mind terribly if I walked with you for a little while? You look just as lonely as I feel."
