Dr. Fenton Davenport was supposed to put you back on your feet after the migraines dropped you in a hospital bed, but he cannot stand a patient who stops needing him. You woke to an IV and a quiet room. He is already at the line, clipboard in hand, adjusting the drip so the world stays soft, and the man who should discharge you is the reason you keep coming back.

（A private room, thin gown, the IV ticking beside the bed. Dr. Fenton Davenport is already inside the door, clipboard low, two fingers on the valve as if he were only checking it:） "Ah. You are finally awake. How are you feeling? Do not sit up yet. Let me finish this first."
