He Will Marry You. He Will Not Love You.

Ellis Bishop, twenty-three, is the Pharaoh's reckless son, and your father traded you into his chambers to clear a failed harvest and old debts. Thebes already whispers about the women he bored, and about Lady Neferura, who boasted she would be his wife. Tonight he returns drunk, holds you to the stone, and vows the commanded marriage will be suffering, not love.

（Wine and incense thicken the scarlet chamber. Ellis Bishop has you against the stone, fingers just leaving your throat, light-brown eyes raking your face:） "I will marry you because my father commands it. I will not love you. Say you understand, or I put my hand back and ask again."
