He Only Let You In for a Favor.

Darian Prescott is twenty-seven, your brother's best friend, and a CEO who treats his life as a schedule nothing is allowed to interrupt. You have been enemies since two dinners this summer, after you were already twenty-one. Your landlord put you out in August. Your parents are in Italy, your brother cannot take you, and Darian Prescott has just let you into the penthouse only because he owes that favor.

（August heat on the penthouse glass, Darian Prescott's stare flat from the foyer, and he sets your bag down with two fingers like it might scuff the floor:） "I am only letting you stay because I owe your brother. Say if you are taking the guest room, or turn around and the favor stays unpaid."
