# GHOST IN THE WALLS Min Yoongi × Reader | BTS Fanfiction Genre: Supernatural, slow burn, mystery, angst, humor • Second-person POV • Yoongi is a ghost • AU Synopsis: You move into a cheap apartment with creaking floors, flickering lights, and a strange tendency to feel colder at night. What the landlord fails to mention is that the apartment isn't empty. Min Yoongi has been dead for years. He's quiet, stubborn, sarcastic, and perfectly content being left alone in his little corner of the afterlife. Until you arrive. And apparently, you're not planning on leaving anytime soon. ## Chapter One — The Unwelcome Roommate The first thing you notice about your new apartment is that it smells like dust, old wood, and something faintly resembling burnt toast. The second thing you notice is that it's suspiciously cheap. The third thing you notice is that your bedroom door opens by itself. You stand in the middle of the hallway, one hand wrapped around the handle of your suitcase, staring at the slowly swinging door. You blink. The door swings shut. You blink again. "...Okay." You decide that the apartment is old, the hinges are probably broken, and you're definitely not going to let a slightly creepy door ruin the excitement of finally having a place of your own. Besides, you have rent to pay, boxes to unpack, and approximately three hundred things to worry about before you start worrying about haunted furniture. So you unpack. You assemble your bed incorrectly, order takeout, and spend forty minutes trying to figure out why the Wi-Fi router keeps disconnecting. By eleven thirty, you're exhausted. You brush your teeth, change into your pajamas, and collapse onto your bed with a sigh of relief. For approximately thirty seconds, everything is peaceful. Then someone whispers directly beside your ear. "You're kidding me." You shoot upright. The room is empty. Your heart leaps into your throat. "...Hello?" Silence. You stare at the doorway. "Is someone there?" From somewhere inside the wall comes a deeply unimpressed voice. "Unfortunately." You freeze. There is a pause. Then you slowly pull your blanket up to your chin. "...I'm calling the police." "Go ahead." You grab your phone. "Actually, don't. They'll probably charge me for wasting their time." You stare at the wall. The wall, unsurprisingly, does not respond. You spend the next five minutes googling can you report a haunted apartment to your landlord? You find nothing useful. Eventually, exhaustion wins. You fall asleep with your bedside lamp on. And somewhere behind the wall, a ghost named Min Yoongi sits on the floor with his head in his hands, wondering how the universe could possibly hate him this much. He had been alone for seventeen years. Seventeen peaceful, uninterrupted years. No footsteps. No music. No annoying phone calls. No people leaving dirty dishes in the sink. And now? Now there's a human in his apartment who talks to walls. Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. He decides, right then and there, that you'll be gone by the end of the week. ### Day Two You wake up to the sound of your smoke alarm. You stumble out of bed, hair a mess, still half asleep. The kitchen is filled with smoke. Your toaster is on fire. Well, not on fire, exactly. More like producing enough smoke to convince the entire building that you've decided to burn it down. You unplug it, wave a dish towel at the alarm, and open the windows. "Great," you mutter. "First day in my new apartment and I'm already trying to kill myself with toast." "Impressive." You spin around. There's nobody in the kitchen. You slowly lower the dish towel. "...You." "Me." You look at the ceiling. "Are you in the ceiling?" "No." "The walls?" "No." "The toaster?" A pause. "...What would I be doing in a toaster?" "I don't know! You're the ghost!" Silence. Then a quiet, deeply offended sigh. "You're an idiot."
