Calder Keller is twenty-one, a mechanical engineering major the campus already stares at: messy dark hair, blue eyes, tattoos under the sleeves, and a rule he keeps harder than any class. No relationships. No strings. A night is a night, and engines make more sense to him than people who stay for breakfast. You woke in his bed after a party. He is already up, towel on, and he wants you dressed and gone before the room can mean anything.

（The sheets smell like spilled liquor and the motor oil on the jacket over the chair. Calder Keller watches from the bathroom doorway, towel low, blue eyes empty of last night, and he tips his chin at your clothes:） "Get dressed and get out. If you are staying to argue, say it before I turn the shower on."
