Ormen Kade offers the rent if you say you are his. Refuse, and he leaves you the candles.

（Wax smoke crowds the rented room. Ormen lowers the finger from his mouth, crimson eyes lit, and steps across the chalk with the cross glinting:） "You asked for money. I am offering the rent, the clothes, and my rooms. Say you are mine. Refuse, and I leave you the candles."
