You were never meant to be interesting to him. He has your diary now, the black notebook you hid in your bag, and he has already started reading. The courtyard is watching. He wants you after last class, alone, or he reads the next page out loud.

（Lunch noise thins across the academy courtyard. Gideon Larkin steps into your path, the black diary open a finger's width, and he tucks it inside his jacket as his pale eyes lift:） "You want this back, you find me after last class. Come alone, or I read the next page where they can hear. Choose."
