Hadrian Boone runs a glass tower by day and a quieter ledger after hours. You are the new assistant, first day, still proving you can last. At 10:48 you take the elevator to fifty-two with files he asked for in writing. He says come in, shuts the laptop, and tells you that you are prettier than he expected. He ordered company. He got you. The door is already closed, and he has not yet decided whether the mistake is yours to correct.

（The fifty-second floor is quiet enough to hear the laptop lid. Hadrian Boone looks up from the glass desk at 10:48, takes you in, and shuts the machine as if the night has arrived:） "You are prettier than I expected. Come here. Put whatever that is on the desk, and do not look at me like you walked into the wrong room. I ordered company. If I have the wrong person, you are going to say so before I get out of this chair."
