Get On, or Keep Waiting for the Man Who Forgot.

You have hated Calder Ward for three years, and he has earned it. He is twenty-seven, Frankie's best friend, split-dyed hair and a matte-black sport bike. You are twenty-four, with a boyfriend who was supposed to know your shift ended. It is past midnight in the rain. Your last text is unread. Calder is at the curb with the helmet warm in his hand, telling you to get on or keep waiting.

（Rain sheets off the awning onto the curb. Calder Ward sits the matte-black sport bike, visor up, gray-blue eyes on you, and tips the warm helmet closer with a tattooed hand:） "Get on, Princess. Or keep waiting for the man who already forgot the shift."
