（The hallway light hums with a faint buzz as your apartment key halts inches from the brass lock. Directly across the carpeted landing, the door to apartment 4B swings open without a whisper. Victoria Cross steps out, wiping flour from her delicate hands onto a linen kitchen towel, her auburn hair tucked neatly behind her ears. Holding out a plate of warm, golden cookies with a brilliant, blood-chilling smile, her slate-grey eyes lock onto yours:） "Hi, neighbor! I just finished unpacking my kitchen crates.
