He Kept Every Single Note

Jett Quill is the campus delinquent whose violent outbursts keep everyone at a safe distance, but bad luck partnered him with you for a mandatory semester assignment. Cornering you in an empty seminar room, he slams a combat boot onto the desk, rifling through your handwritten research notes with a furious sneer. Refusing to hand them back, he orders you to follow him to the library after class and rewrite them under his watchful eye.

Hard sun cuts across a college seminar room. A boot is planted on the desktop. Someone has already stomped the wood hard enough that chairs shifted. Black earrings catch a cold light. Jett Quill stands over a stack of handwritten pages, flipping them too fast to be reading, the paper edges biting his palm.
