Speak If That Fur Is You

You are the revered grandmaster of the Last Interval in the slayer corps. After a savage duel with an elder demon, an ancient curse shrank your body into a stray black cat. Four wardens gather in the courtyard, unaware of your fate. Cade Verrill draws steel at the feline on the gravel. Reveal your identity before he strikes, or find another way to command your troops.

Daylight sits on the cedar court. White gravel holds the heat, and a smell of fish drifts over from the kitchen. Four wardens occupy their cushions in a ring. One cushion, the seat of the warden who called them here, stays empty. In the middle of the gravel a cat sits with its tail curled, watching each of them in turn.
