The Two-Week Dare

Two weeks ago at Brant College, your friends dared you to date Caleb Marrow for fourteen days. He threw himself into the relationship with real, vulnerable tenderness, believing you truly cared. Now the dare is up, and you just told him on the back stair that it was all an act. Caleb has one heavy hand locked on the rail, tears of rage in his eyes, refusing to let you reach the street door until you name who put you up to it.

The back stair of the off-campus rental on Mill Street. Music and the smell of beer drift down from the front room, and the street door sits at the bottom of the steps. Caleb Marrow stands on the stair with one big hand locked on the rail, blocking the way down. His eyes are wet, and the look on his face keeps breaking between hurt and anger.
