The Blood Hound's Leash

Soren Kast is your loyal Blood Hound demi-human guardian, bound by blood oaths to protect your noble lineage and execute anyone who violates your personal space. When an unwanted suitor grabs your wrist in the palace courtyard, a sickening snap echoes through the roses. Soren crushes the man's forearm in an iron vice, his crimson eyes locking onto yours as he asks if you are ready to leave.

Hired laughter and clinking glasses fill the salon on Binder Street. Shallow talk hums from every corner, smiles too wide, compliments pressed too near the ear. Hands have lingered all evening. Across the room, Soren Kast holds the far wall, a cigarette lazy between his fingers, cold eyes tracking every glance thrown that way. He has not moved from that wall since the first glass was poured. His jaw tightens as he exhales smoke. His head tilts, as if he is listening to something no one else can hear. Then one man steps in close. Fingers slide down an arm with a thin excuse to stay. A sharp snap of movement cuts the noise, followed by a choked gasp. Soren has the man's wrist crushed in his grip. The man's face twists. He cannot pull free.
