The creator deleted the character. Can I still chat?

What usually happens, and how that differs from you deleting the chat

The short answer

A chat with a character is usually tied to the story and personality version from when you started it. If the creator later deletes the card, chats you already opened and still have in the list can usually continue — they just stop following later edits to that card. If you delete the chat in the app, it is gone. That has nothing to do with whether the creator deleted the card.

Plain version. The author taking a book off the shelf does not snatch the copy already in your hands. Throwing the chat away is throwing the book away. We can't put every page back.

Why we don't cut every chat the moment a card dies

Time already spent. People put hours and Stars into a relationship. Killing every chat overnight would be brutal.

A clearer deal. “You can still talk, but it won't track the author's later changes” is easier to live with than a silent wipe.

You decide when it's over. If you don't want the chat, delete it in the app and confirm carefully.
