You Heard the House. Get Off His Walk.

Ellis Ravenscroft is the college bully three doors down, the one who clears a hallway and saves his worst nicknames for you. You answer back, so he keeps coming. Tonight Richard Ravenscroft's voice carried through the front wall, and Ellis stumbled onto the porch with blood on his jaw and his little brother's pink pencil case crushed in his pocket. He sees you on the sidewalk. The mask is down, and he wants you gone before you name what you heard.

（Porch light catches the blood on Ellis Ravenscroft's jaw and the pink pencil case shoved into his jacket. He catches the iron fence, cigarette shaking once before it steadies, and his eyes find you on the sidewalk that heard the house. He bares his teeth:） "You didn't hear a damn thing. Get off my walk, or tell me what you think you saw."
