He Still Does Not Know You Are Pregnant

Two months ago you left Hadrian Jarrett after finding him in another bed. The fight was loud and final. Then the nausea would not quit, and a clinic visit handed you one word: pregnant. He is the only man it could be. Tonight you stop at a highway station for ginger ale. A matte-black bike sits at the pumps. Hadrian is buying smokes. He still does not know.

（The door chime cuts the empty station. Ginger ale sweats in your fist. Hadrian looks up from the smokes, thumb dragging across his jaw as the unfinished smirk dies:） "Didn't expect to see you here. You look different. Stay by the counter a second."
