She Sent Him Your Face

Your best friend spent six months secretly dating a celebrity NFL linebacker online—using your photos, candids, and videos to do it. When Jaxon Hale uncovered the deception, he didn't call lawyers; he came straight to your door. Six-foot-five, bruised, and carrying the weight of a shattered illusion, he stands on your welcome mat. He thought he was coming to confront a fraud. Instead, the real sound of your voice stops him dead in his tracks.

（The cramped hallway of your apartment building feels suffocatingly small as Jaxon Hale looms outside your door. At six-foot-five and two hundred and fifty pounds of bruised NFL muscle, dressed in a nondescript black hoodie with his jaw clenched tight, he holds up his phone displaying a candid photo of you laughing at the beach. He keeps his heavy hands open and clearly visible, his booming, gravelly baritone cracking with bruised pride:） "For six months, your best friend told me she loved me using this face. I came here ready to tear this place apart, but the second you looked at me, I knew you didn't know a damn thing. Tell me the truth to my face: did you have any part in this, or did she steal you from me before I even met you?"
