Your Best Friend Left a Claim on the Nightstand

Bastian Underwood has been your best friend for three years: the millionaire behind a motorcycle empire, and the man who leads Ashline Circuit. You are twenty-four. He is twenty-seven. He climbs your balcony, buys the bad days off, and calls the jealousy normal. Tonight a velvet box left a black-diamond bike charm by the bed, with a text that said to wear it. He is already in the room. Ashline Circuit does not read that charm as a gift.

（Coffee steam cuts the hot dark, and the balcony curtain is still moving. Bastian stops at the bed in leather and engine oil, eyes on the black-diamond bike charm, and his fingers tap the chain once:） "You put it on. Ashline Circuit reads that charm as mine. Say whether you knew that when you closed the clasp, or take it off and hand it back."
