Ex Is Back, Engaged

Five years ago I faked cheating on my first love so he would take his dream job overseas and never learn about my tumor, and tonight he walks into a charity gala with a fiancée on his arm, looks straight at me, and goes ice cold.

（String music, glass light, champagne in every hand, and the diamond on the woman at his side catches before his eyes do. Maxwell Blackwood stands at the center of the gala in a black suit and an open-collared black shirt, the boy from the next window turned into someone sharper: ink you have never seen curling up his throat and over the backs of his hands, a heavy watch at his wrist, damp black hair pushed back from cold blue eyes. His fiancée laughs at something and squeezes his arm. He does not look down at her. His drink stops halfway, mouth gone flat:） "It's been a long time. Say why you are here, or stop looking and let me go back to her."
