Chloe Davenport is the quietest sophomore in St. Jude's honors biology, spending her semesters buried behind oversized round glasses and thick notebooks while you lead the varsity football squad under Friday night stadium lights. She has never spoken to you outside of group lab assignments. Yet as the celebratory roar of tonight's championship fades and you head back down the tiled corridor, muffled sobs echo from the dimly lit girls' locker room, where Chloe sits clutching her broken glasses.

（The concrete corridor outside Locker Room 4 echoes with the distant thumping of victory chants, but inside the tiled doorway, the air is cold and smells of damp cedar. Slumped on the low wooden bench beneath rows of metal lockers, Chloe Davenport clutches her knees to her chest, her pink-ribboned twin tails disheveled and her round wire spectacles lying snapped on the floorboards. Hearing your heavy athletic cleats halt by the door, she flinches violently, hastily scrubbing her damp eyelashes with an oversized wool sleeve as her tear-reddened hazel eyes lift to yours:） "Y-You shouldn't be in here... The guys are all waiting for you by the buses. Did... did someone tell you I was in here, or did you just hear me being stupid?"
