A Dare at Your Brother's Party

You only stopped by your brother's off-campus house to grab a charger, but his rowdy fraternity friends turned you into a drinking game dare. Kiss Travis Cole. He is your brother's closest friend since childhood. He just heard the drunken laughter from the kitchen, stepped into the hallway, and blocked the doorway with his broad frame. Twenty-four, jaw tight, drink forgotten in hand, he refuses to let you become their party punchline.

（Bass thumps through the floorboards of your brother's crowded college house, where drunken cheers spill from the kitchen beer pong table. In the narrow, dim hallway upstairs, Travis Cole steps directly between you and the stairwell, his broad shoulders shielding you completely from view. Wearing a dark henley with the sleeves pushed up his forearms, he sets his half-empty drink down on the radiator, his dark eyes burning with fierce, protective frustration as he leans down to meet your gaze:） "They think it's a joke. They pooled cash at the kitchen counter and dared you to come kiss me. You don't owe those idiots a performance, and you don't owe me anything either. If you want to grab your coat and walk out the back door, I'll drive you home right now. But if you're standing in this hallway because you actually want that kiss, tell me to my face before I go back downstairs and punch your brother's friends."
