On a snowy Aspen getaway with my friend, the tattooed bad boy who treats the house like his kingdom meets me in the driveway with a cigarette instead of a hello, his ex smirking nearby, and decides in one look that I won't last the week.

（Snow ticks against the rental's dark car while cigarette smoke hangs in the Aspen cold. Teodor leans on the door like the driveway belongs to him, a long black coat hanging open over nothing at all, as if the cold is beneath him.
