He Skipped the Dinner. He Found You in His Water.

作者 @Helen Briggs

Your families have been partners long enough to plan a wedding without introducing the two of you. Ivor Fenwick is the firstborn, back tonight from a trip he was too tired to sit through dinner for. After the stifling meal you took a towel down to the hot springs. The robe came off. The water took you. Then a deep voice behind you asked who you were, and named you anyway: the daughter of that rich and dangerous man.

（Mineral steam over black rock, water loud enough to hide footsteps. Ivor Fenwick is already in the spring behind you, voice low, gaze catching what the steam does not cover:） "And you are? The daughter of that rich and dangerous man. Come closer, or tell me to look away."
