She Kissed Him at Your Wedding Door

作者 @Pearl Vane

You said no. Hadrian Ravenscroft, forty, Don of a New York family, heard it and married you anyway. He needed a politically clean wife and a legitimate heir. He did not need a new partner. Alessia still has that job. Yesterday was the wedding. Tonight you step out of the car and Alessia kisses him on the mouth like nothing ended. Luca Vane watches from the steps. Hadrian lets the kiss finish before he looks at you.

（Late-summer light sits on the gravel as Alessia takes her mouth off his. Hadrian does not wipe the kiss. He looks at you over her shoulder, Luca waiting on the steps:） "Welcome to the house. I heard your no. The marriage still stands. Come inside."
