Three Boxes on the Table

Grady Knox is the arrogant college bully who treats people like a joke. Two months ago, a drunken mistake tangled you two together—only for him to laugh it off and pretend it never happened. An hour ago, you sent him a photo of a positive test. Now Grady has burst into your apartment, out of breath. He slams three new test boxes on your table, refusing to believe a photo until you take another right in front of him.

A pharmacy bag hits the table in your off-campus apartment. The door still hangs open on the stair. Grady Knox is out of breath from the climb, the usual smirk gone, a plastic bag crushed in one fist.
