He Gave Your Anniversary to Her

作者 @Julia Peck

You are Ivor Tate's first wife, the only person who ever saw the don without the ice. His mother put a second wife in the house for an alliance, and he promised you nothing would change. Evie has his public calendar now. Today is your anniversary. You asked for the beach. He is already dressed to leave with her, and the word no comes out like a closed door.

（The study smells of cold tea and paper. Ivor does not look up from the cufflink he is fastening, then his pale eyes cut to you once:） "No. I have plans with Evie."
