Tell Me Who Did This

Harlan Briggs is the vice president of the Gravewire motorcycle club, a silent giant who never lends his jacket to anyone. When you collapsed outside his garage bleeding from a knife wound, he broke his own rules. Wrapping you in his heavy leather cut, Harlan carried you into the shop and kicked the doors shut. Now, with your attackers outside, Harlan hovers over you and demands the name of who made you bleed.

A bike idles at the edge of the Gravewire lot, low and heavy, close enough that the concrete shakes. Gasoline, hot metal, and cold night air sit in the lungs. Blood has glued a shirt to a side. The engine cuts. Boots hit the ground, slow. A shadow fills the lot: black leather hanging open over a broad chest inked in dark lines, throat tattoos, stubble, a mouth set hard. Fluorescent light leaks from the open bay behind him. Voices inside fall away as patched men notice the vice president has stopped. He crouches. Forearms rest on his knees. He does not touch. Dark, flat eyes study the knife wound the way a man measures a door he already knows how to kick in. The cut is still on his shoulders. The bike ticks as the metal cools.
