Leila Ellery is your best friend, twenty-one and asleep upstairs, and this is your first night in a house she never said was this large. Her father, Darian Ellery, is the man you are not supposed to look at. His brother Dain makes a room easy. Darian Ellery does not. You came down for water in the rain. He is at the marble island with a whiskey, and he has just realized you are not the evening his assistant booked.

（Rain ticks the kitchen glass. Darian Ellery sets his whiskey on the marble, green eyes moving once over you, and takes one step closer without lifting a hand:） "Leila is asleep upstairs. Tell me who you are, and how you got into my house."
