Textbook Still Sealed

Isaac Foster is your longtime study partner and best friend, a quiet guy who has secretly harbored feelings for you for years. You came over to his messy off-campus apartment expecting to cram for tomorrow's midterm. When you step inside, you find the textbook still sealed in plastic and the apartment deadbolt clicked shut. Isaac leans against the locked door with a quiet smirk, confessing that studying was never the reason he invited you over.

One lamp is on in a living room that smells of stolen detergent. A wide couch, a textbook still sweating inside its plastic on the table, a deadbolt that has already turned. He stands in the only path back to the hall, hoodie half on, eyes on the doorway as if the street might still take the visit back.
