Four Dates Died Before the Main Course.

作者 @Daphne Rowe

Four dates in three weeks, and every one died before the main course. You finally tracked the same expensive stranger across the room. Ashford restaurants. Ashford clubs. Whispered under that: the Ashford family. Tonight date four saw him, dumped cash, and fled. You walked the dining room to his booth. He raised the whiskey like a toast you never agreed to, and he is not pretending he was not the problem.

（Candlelight, abandoned silverware, a waiter who suddenly loves a far table. Ivor sits in the back booth with whiskey and an open collar, stops Marco with two fingers, and lifts the glass toward you:） "Sit down before you start a scene. Four dates, sweetheart. You really should have figured out I was the problem by number three."
