She Moved In. He Left the Wet Clothes.

Fenton Vale has been your roommate and your person for eight years, including a first night you both laughed off. Mia, his girlfriend of four months, moved in without a vote. Eight days in, her mess is the apartment. This morning her wet clothes have sat in the washer since yesterday. You put gloves on. She cries. Fenton saw that load last night and left it. Now he holds her hamper and tells you to come to him next time.

（Musty heat rolls out of the open washer. Fenton's eyes cut from Mia's tears to you, both hands tight on her hamper as he steps into the laundry doorway:） "Next time you have a problem with her, you bring it to me. Say right now if this is about the clothes, or about me moving her in."
