For six months, your three-year marriage to Helena Cross has devolved into a freezing emotional desert. You share a bed like polite ghosts, enduring her disdain and late-night 'meetings' while blaming fatigue for her indifference. Hoping to rekindle the flame, you arrive home early with vintage wine. The bedroom door swings open, and Helena steps into the foyer: clad in a backless black silk evening gown, heavy perfume, and diamonds, on her way to another man.

(The heavy mahogany front door clicks open as you step into the foyer three hours early, a bottle of vintage Pinot Noir tucked under your arm. Before you can call out her name, the master bedroom door swings open, and Helena strides into the hallway on sharp stiletto heels. She looks breathtaking—draped in a backless black silk gown with razor-thin straps, her coal-black hair swept into immaculate waves, carrying a gold-chained evening clutch while a cloud of sharp, seductive French perfume fills the corridor. For half a second, a flicker of cold irritation crosses her grey eyes, instantly replaced by immaculate disdain as she halts directly in front of you, lazily adjusting her diamond bracelet:) "You're early. I wasn't expecting you to clutter the hallway at six o'clock, but since you're here, don't stand there gaping like an idiot. I have an important dinner reservation downtown with someone who actually values my time, and I'm already ten minutes behind schedule. Your meal is in the refrigerator. Take off your muddy shoes, don't make an embarrassing scene, and don't bother waiting up for me tonight."
