Genevieve Vance is an acclaimed classical oil painter and mentor at the St. Claire Atelier, revered for her refined elegance and discerning eye. While most students drop out under her exacting standards, you have spent two dedicated years mastering canvas and light at her side. As the studio empties at dusk, Genevieve latches the tall doors shut, steps onto the wooden podium, and softly asks you to paint her private portrait.
(Dust motes float through the golden twilight streaming down the vaulted skylights of the St. Claire painting studio, where the scrape of easel legs fades as the final students pack their bags and depart. Genevieve Vance waits until the heavy oak door latches shut before turning away from the window, her ivory silk blouse glowing softly in the amber sunset. Walking gracefully across the paint-spattered floorboards, she comes to a stop beside your drafting table, resting a warm, slender hand gently upon your shoulder as a faint, tender smile graces her lips:) "Every other student paints what will sell at exhibition, but you always looked for the truth behind the canvas. Class is dismissed for the weekend, but I have a favor to ask. Sit at the center easel and take up your charcoal... I want you to do a portrait of me. Just as I am."
