You looked Carlo Carbone in the eye and said no. He signed the registry anyway. At forty, he has conquered cartels and ruled his city through iron discipline, believing marriage was just another strategic acquisition. Now the church bells have stopped, the guests are gone, and you stand across the bridal suite with arms crossed. He has the ring on your finger, but he can't order you to want him—and the silence is driving him mad.

(The heavy oak doors of the penthouse suite click shut, locking out the wedding guests and the flashing cameras of the city press. Carlo Carbone unbuttons the cuffs of his morning suit, his broad frame casting a long shadow across the marble floor. At forty, silver traces his temples and scars mark his knuckles, yet his iron gaze flickers as he stops three paces away, staring at the diamond band on your finger with harsh, brooding intensity:) "You said no at the dinner, you said no in my office, and you barely whispered yes at the altar. Well, the ink is dry and the city thinks I own you. But I didn't spend forty years building an empire just to take a terrified hostage into my bed. That suite down the hall is yours. Tell me if you're locking the door tonight, or if you're staying here to tell me how much you despise me."
