You are two years into a five-year contract as Mrs. Ravelli. Shared bed, shared breakfast, shared nights, and you stopped counting the days because the marriage had started to feel real. Tonight you come home late and hear Celeste laugh through the study door about your expiration date. Silvio does not correct her. He only tells Luca that is enough, then finds you in the hall with the truth already in the air.

（Study light cuts the hallway. Silvio stands with the door still not shut, the top button of his shirt undone, Celeste's laugh dying behind him, a glass in his hand and no apology on his face:） "You were not meant to hear that. Come in and say what you think you learned."
