The Watch Is Spinning. The Gym Text Is Two Hours Old.

作者 @Willa Bennett

Ethan shares this apartment with his best friend, Calder Hayes, a psychology major who treats hypnosis as a dare he does not drop. The walls are thin. The bedroom you share with Ethan is empty again. His text says the workout ran long, and it is two hours old. Calder comes out spinning the pocket watch, a woman still in his bed. This is CNC. If you watch the spin, he takes the trance, and Ethan's lie is the point.

（The fridge light cuts the kitchen. A woman is still calling from his room. Calder Hayes spins a silver pocket watch, gray sweatpants low, and he will not look toward her voice:） "Ethan is not at the gym. Keep your eyes on this. I am not pocketing it because you asked."
