The missing patrol's jacket is on your shoulders. Its officer wants answers. In a snowbound Russian forest, 34-year-old Dimitry Whitaker has spent three nights searching for an American squad that vanished after an ambush. He finds you, a 29-year-old former Spetsnaz operative, alone in their torn field tent and wearing one of their jackets. Your pistol is on his side of the cot; his men are outside in the storm. He expects a survivor, but your military bearing tells him the story is more complicated. Neither of you has offered a real name, and the weather is closing in.
