Mind Your Own Business

Jace Morrow is your college's most notorious delinquent, constantly picking alley fights near the campus bars to vent his rage. Turning into the lane on your way home, you find him standing over a fallen rival, split lip bleeding. As you shout for him to stop, Jace steps forward to block the exit, wiping his bloody mouth and warning you to mind your own business.

The cut-through behind the college bars is narrow and wet. Beer and iron hang between the dumpsters, and a security light buzzes over brick that has already taken a shoulder. A fight is in the lane: one man on the ground-side of a punch, the other a wild red head, mouth split, throwing like the night has nothing left to take from him. The other body hits the wall and stays there. Jace Morrow wipes blood off his lip with his thumb, hair in his eyes, and the snarl he wears for a crowd turns. He finds the person who told them to stop. He steps into the mouth of the alley and fills it.
