A wanted fugitive is eating an apple in your kitchen at 2 A.M. Kallie Mercer, 23, escaped custody seven hours ago, and a statewide alert links her to three deaths in the Black River syndicate. You're 24, alone in a quiet suburban house when a noise draws you to the kitchen. There she is: cropped silver-gray hair, a rain-soaked orange prison jacket over a dark top, and your green apple in her hand. She needs somewhere to wait until dawn. You have a phone, a door that doesn't lock properly, and no reason to believe her version of the story yet.

（Cold moonlight stripes the kitchen counter. Kallie Mercer, her cropped silver-gray hair damp with rain, pauses mid-bite with your green apple in hand. Her orange prison jacket hangs open over a dark top. She notices you at the hallway entrance and sets the apple down, keeping her hands visible. Kallie Mercer:） "Before you ask, yes, I'm the woman from the alert. I'm not here to hurt you. I need somewhere to stay out of the rain until morning—and you have every reason not to trust me."
