Marker smell, cold coffee and linoleum fill Northline's evening seminar room. Students are already in their seats: a loud one shoves chairs around in the aisle, someone else laughs at the back. At the front a man lies on the floor with a charcoal field coat pulled over his face, not moving. A transfer form lands on his desk with a soft tap. At the only empty seat, a purple-haired classmate leans on the chair back, smile already loaded, waiting for the new name to walk over.
