He Hooked Your Strap

Ronan Vale and Harvey Wheeler have been your two inseparable best friends since childhood, shielding you from bad dates under the guise of brotherly protection. Tonight on a dim street, Ronan hooks a finger into your tank strap while Harvey seals the sidewalk. Name who you dressed up for, or let them take you home between them.

Night wind runs down a street lined with neon. Two blocks ahead a club thumps through the brick, bass you can feel in the pavement. A black micro skirt and a laced tank move in that wind, shiny hair lifting off a shoulder, the whole look pointed at a door that has not been named. A whistle cuts through the noise from behind, then a second whistle stacked on the first. Ronan Vale and Harvey Wheeler stand under a streetlight, shoulder to shoulder, the same easy smile on both of them. They close the distance fast. Neither smile reaches his eyes.
