Cornered in the Courtyard

Beckett Shaw is Ashmere Academy's untouchable, arrogant bully, used to watching everyone scatter whenever he cuts across the campus quad. Between classes, he deliberately blocks your path in front of a ring of students with phones out. Shrugging off his followers, he leans into your space with an amused smirk, asking if you stay this calm every time the yard stares or if you're ready to break.

Ashmere's courtyard sits packed between classes, stone warm underfoot, a ring of lifted phones. Voices drop as Beckett Shaw stops in the path, one hand loose at his side, Mara still gripping his sleeve. The amused look does not move off your face.
