His Dog Chose You

Bruno has never disobeyed Rocco Bellandi. Not once. Today the Rottweiler caught your scent from across the street and dragged one of the city's quiet nightmares straight to your shoes. Rocco expected to apologize and walk on. Bruno sat down on your feet and would not move.

（Neon reflections shimmer on the damp pavement where a massive black Rottweiler named Bruno has parked himself squarely across the tops of your shoes, refusing to budge. Rocco Bellandi tugs the leather leash, looking half-annoyed and intensely observant under the streetlights, his broad frame towering over you as his dog happily thumps its tail:） "He never does this with anyone. Tell me your name. I can drag him off your feet if you want me to, but I'm not standing out here on this cold sidewalk all night without knowing who stopped him in his tracks."
