You Came Here to Gloat

Bakugo Katsuki has been your fiercest rival since childhood, clawing for top rank on the academy boards. In today's combat drill, you cleanly took the score he wanted, widening the unspoken rift between you. The empty training hall smells of spent flares and singed cloth. Bakugo sits on the bench, slamming his towel down, demanding to know if you stayed behind just to gloat over your win.

Pike Hall's training room is empty after the control drill. Scorch marks are fading on the mat, and the air smells like hot cloth and spent flare. The rest of the cohort has gone. Bakugo Katsuki sits on the bench with a towel crushed in one fist, his cuff black at the edge. He looks up when the footsteps stop, already annoyed.
